Police: Vicious Dog On The Loose In Pontiac

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Oakland County authorities are looking for a vicious dog that they say already attacked at least two people in Pontiac.

The latest attack happened as a 56-year-old woman was walking early in the morning in the 100 block of Seneca, near University. That's where Sheriff's deputies say two German Shepherds attacked her, dragging her down the street.

A man driving by saw the attack and came to her assistance.

EMS arrived on the scene a short time later but were unable to exit their vehicle because of the attacking animals.

Deputies were eventually able to locate the dogs behind a home, but the dogs tried to attack them, according to Sheriff's officials.

One of the dogs was shot and killed, but the second dog fled the area.

Animal control officials have had no luck finding the dog.

In a similar attack that happened the previous afternoon, in the 500 block of Martin Luther King Blvd., a Sheriff's deputies say a 53-year-old Oakland Twp. woman sustained multiple puncture wounds to upper and lower legs.

Both victims were treated for their injuries and released. The younger woman, who officials say needed 50 sutures, was referred to a plastic surgeon.
