Police Search For Man's Prosthetic Arm Missing From Stolen Car

DELTA TWP. (WWJ) - Police are on the hunt for a man's prosthetic arm that disappeared after two juveniles apparently stole his car near Lansing.

The Eaton County Sheriff's Office said the situation unfolded Tuesday night after they received a report about a stolen vehicle in the area of Robins Road and Saginaw Highway. Of more concern, the victim told police his electric prosthetic arm was inside the vehicle.

Deputies were searching the area when they received a call about two juveniles who were caught shoplifting from a nearby business near Elmwood Road and Saginaw Highway.

Deputies responded to the store and discovered that the partners in crime were in possession of the stolen vehicle, as well as second vehicle that was earlier reported stolen out of Lansing.

After the suspects were apprehended, deputies searched the stolen vehicles and realized that the victim's prosthetic arm was still missing.

Police are now hoping the public can help find the prosthetic, described as a black "Milo" electric arm from the elbow down.

Anyone who might have information on the case or who knows where the arm might be, is urged to contact police at 517-816-8196.
