Police Investigate Deadly Train, Pedestrian Accident
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - An early-morning accident on the train tracks in Chesterfield Township leaves one person dead.
Police are telling WWJ Newsradio 950's Ron Dewey that the person was killed after being hit by a train.
The accident happened at 23 Mile Road -- between Gratiot and Fairchild. Circumstances around the crash, including why the victim was on the tracks, remain unclear. The investigation is still in the early stages, however, no information was immediately available as to the identity of the victim.
That stretch of 23 Mile re-opened after it had been closed for about an hour.
