People Lacking Health Insurance Often Pay More For Care
DETROIT (WWJ) - A new report on health care released Monday says that people who lack health insurance are more likely to get their medical treatment in costly emergency rooms and less likely to have regular, preventive care.
The survey of 1,000 Michigan adults also reveals that simply having health coverage does not guarantee access to care.
The study was done by The Center for Healthcare Research & Transformation which is a non-profit partnership between the University of Michigan and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
