Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By 89-Year-Old Driver
WESTLAND (WWJ) - Authorities say a 50-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in Westland.
The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday on Wayne Road near Hunter Street, just north of Ford Road.
The woman was apparently walking down the road when she was struck by an 89-year-old driver. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died.
Police say drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Names of those involved were not immediately released.
