Pat Caputo: This Time The Detroit Lions 2-0 Start Isn't An Illusion
The Lions have had good starts before. They were 2-0 in 2004 and 2007. By the end of the following seasons, both head coaches, Steve Mariucci and Rod Marinelli, had lost their jobs.
This is different. The 2-0 beginning this year doesn't seem fleeting, but rather a means toward greater success.
It's not out of the realm of possibility the Lions could make the playoffs. May even be probable. It appears the Lions are finally on track to becoming the type of team capable of contending for a championship. That the long-standing pipe dream, some day, may become a reality.
