PAT CAPUTO: Detroit Lions Haven't Been Jobbed. They Have Been Defeated
The Lions lost, 24-20, to the Chicago Bears Sunday.
It was a defeat which sums up their season.
It was close. The Lions can make the claim they actually played well despite the loss.
Drew Stanton, the third-string quarterback few seem to have genuine faith in, performed reasonably well. Speedy rookie running back Jahvid Best, obviously in better health, showed explosiveness in the open field he hadn't displayed in some time.
Calvin Johnson made a big play for a touchdown and was threatening. There were times when the Lions' defensive line dominated the Bears' offensive line. Defensive end Cliff Avril had three sacks. Stefan Logan made a couple nice plays returning kicks.
