Pat Caputo: At Least Brady Hoke Sounds Like A Michigan Football Coach

Only time will tell whether Brady Hoke is the next great football coach at the University of Michigan.

But this much we do know already: He sounds like what you expect from the Michigan football coach.

And that is not a mushy song from Josh Groban.

"I was a linebacker, and I coach like a linebacker," is how Hoke put it at his introductory news conference Wednesday.

Hoke kind of sounded like the patron saint of Michigan football, Glenn E. "Bo" Schembechler. And nothing like his predecessor, Rich Rodriguez.

For one thing, Hoke embraced the Ohio State rivalry, but clearly not Ohio State. Seemed deliberate how he didn't put the words "Ohio" and "State" together.

Unlike Rodriguez - who kind of linked the Michigan-Ohio State game with the Pitt-West Virginia game - Hoke didn't mince words.
