When Karen Davidson, wife of late Pistons' owner William Davidson, made it widely known last season the local National Basketball Association franchise was for sale, it was difficult to gauge buyer interest.
According to most sources, the Pistons are one of the most valued NBA franchises, worth anywhere between $450 million and $500 million.
Yet, it was difficult to envision interest being that high because of a struggling economy, especially in Michigan, and because of a basketball team that was finally forced in rebuilding mode after years of legitimately competing for NBA championships.
