Norwegian Embassy Connects Locals Trying To Reach Family In Norway
DETROIT (WWJ) - The attacks in Norway sent shock waves through that country and have local families trying to connect to relatives in the effected area.
WWJ's Stephanie Davis has reaction to the Norway attacks from the honorary Consul of Norway to the State of Michigan, Dennis Flessland.
"It's a shock, it's not the kind of place that you would expect that, but you know Norway has been a good ally of the United States in both the Afghanistan effort and the actions in Libya as part of NATO and they've received some threats for their role in those actions," said Flessland.
"There is one Imam in Norway that the Norwegian government is trying to deport, this may have to do something with him, and the other thing I have heard is that there were some threats related to the publication of those cartoons of Mohammed in a Danish paper," said Flessland.
He says the Norwegian Embassy in Washington has set up a link to help those who are trying to reach friends and family in Oslo, which you can find by clicking on here.
