No Action From State Lawmakers On DPS Emergency Bailout

LANSING (WWJ) - The pressure is on state lawmakers as the Detroit district heads toward a potential shutdown over a lack of cash.

WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick reports the legislature still hasn't acted on a $50 million emergency bailout.

There are five legislative days are left before everybody leaves on March 24 for spring break notes Skubick.

Right now there are two proposals on the table; $50 million in emergency funds and a second plan by the governor to float $750 million to Detroit schools over the next decade.
