New 'Minigig' Site Bows
TOLEDO, Ohio -- If you have a job you want done for $8, or if you're willing to do something for $8, there's a new Web site for you.
Toledo freelance writer Reggie Anderson has established Eighterr.com as a meeting place for freelance workers.
The site charges $1 for every $8 job that is negotiated on the site -- less than the 20 percent charged by competing "minigig" sites.
Users of the site list jobs they need completed for $8. Once the job is published, sellers will offer to complete the work. Upon completion, those listing jobs have the option of accepting or rejecting the final product -- rejections are acceptable if the seller did not complete the job as requested. When an order has been delivered and completed, users may rate the seller.
Sellers, meanwhile, have the option of offering small jobs online. Select the "Start Selling" button and enter details of the job you are willing to complete for $8. Sellers should describe exactly what it is they are willing to do for this fee so buyers have reasonable expectations. The more detail that is provided in this section, the more satisfied both parties will be when the transaction is complete.
To help attract business, sellers should enter a profile, upload your picture or video and promote your services on social networking. If you consistently receive high ratings and complete gigs on a timely basis, sellers earn the chance to be featured on the home page.
Many categories are available to choose from -- graphics, social marketing and video are just a few of the categories to select from.
