New Mi Commute Website Touts Carpooling

LANSING (WWJ) - How do you get to work?  That's the question the Michigan Dept. of Transportation is asking on its new "Mi Commute" website.  The website is loaded with tips and tricks to help beat the cost of commuting.

One of the videos you'll see at the Mi Commute website touts the benefits of alternative methods of transportation. In one animated clip, Wally the commuter talks about ride sharing.

MDOT officials are targeting commuters who have never considered ride sharing and to build awareness about other ways to get around, with gas now above $4 a gallon and expected to go even higher.
