Neighbors Evacuated Due To Gas Main Break In Northville Township

NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Some Northville Township residents were evacuated from their homes for a time due to a gas leak.

The all clear has been given following what Northville Township Police Lt. Paul Tennies confirmed was a gas main break Friday afternoon, in the area of 6 Mile Road and Bradner.

Traffic was blocked off along 6 Mile from Winchester to Northville Road as a result, and people living in a two-block area surrounding the leak were evacuated by authorities as a precaution.

Police and firefighters were on the scene, along with a Consumers Energy crew that quickly made the repairs.

No injuries or illnesses in connection with the leak were reported.

People were back in their homes before 3 p.m.
