Mid-Michigan Companies Roll Out New Software

LANSING (WWJ) -- IDV Solutions announced availability of Version 3.0 of its enterprise risk visualization software, Visual Command Center.

Meanwhile, TechSmith Corp., based in nearby Okemos, released new video creation and management software called Relay.

IDV Solutions says its new release includes expanded data sources, enhancements to alerting, and other features that increase the ability of organizations to alert, assess, and take action against threats to their assets and operations.

Visual Command Center empowers organizations to protect their people, locations and operations against real or potential threats. It monitors real-time risk events such as acts of terrorism, weather, hazardous materials, as well as data from other sources, such as Web feeds or internal and external systems including physical security devices.

When a risk is detected near an asset or employee location, Visual Command Center automatically generates an alert. Operators can use powerful visualization, filtering, and query tools to rapidly assess the threat, and then act to mitigate risk.

The new release includes enhancements to inbound alerting; improvements to "tours" (cycling visualizations of global, regional, and metro views); expanded messaging, notification and reporting; and time-based enhancements. Visual Commander 3.0 also includes new connections to travel management solutions and expanded travel security and medical risk data.

Visual Command Center has been deployed by customers in financial services, technology, energy, defense, and others to protect people and assets.

TechSmith, meanwhile, introduced Relay software to streamline video creation and management for educators, allowing them to click one button to record, store and distribute their class lecture content.

TechSmith Relay hosts the content for districts and allows students, teachers and administrators to set up their own video libraries to share and collaborate on schoolwork. The accounts can be securely accessed from anywhere, at any time, and are viewable on tablets, home computers and smartphones. TechSmith Relay also allows teachers to understand how well students are comprehending information through quizzing and analytics in every video. This knowledge provides teachers real-time insight into how well students are grasping lessons.

TechSmith Relay is compatible with TechSmith solutions Camtasia and Snagit. TechSmith Relay is now available through an annual subscription-based service. To learn more about TechSmith Relay visit
