ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan is sharing the Big Ten title with its two biggest rivals — and that's just fine with the Wolverines.
Coach John Beilein's team celebrated its first regular-season conference championship since 1986 on Sunday, finishing in a three-way tie with Ohio State and Michigan State after the Buckeyes stunned the Spartans on a last-second shot in East Lansing. Michigan State will be the top seed in the Big Ten tournament, followed by Michigan and Ohio State.
The Wolverines needed to win their last two games — both on the road — and have Michigan State lose its last two to create the tie at the top. That's exactly what happened.
