Max Scherzer To Visit Middle School Rally In Warren

"Play Baseball Detroit" is a comprehensive youth baseball outreach program dedicated to strengthening and expanding youth baseball and softball programs in the greater Detroit region.

As a part of this program, Tigers Pitcher Max Scherzer, along with members of the front office, will visit with Beer Middle School students. This event will be filled with games, music, videos and more – all dedicated to reintroducing baseball to the students.

At a time when health studies indicate that physical activity amongst young children is on the decline, the Detroit Tigers are working to promote the game of baseball and encourage students to join a Detroit area summer baseball or softball program.

The program also encourages students to sign up for a team and begin to embrace the wonderful game of baseball. The program demonstrates the Tigers are passionate about creating the next generation of baseball stars either on the playing field or in the front office.
