Matt Dery's Daily Update 2-7-11
The Wings Offense needs a boost and they get it tonight as Pavel Datsyuk is back and will play tonight as the New York Rangers come to the Joe. The All-Star center has been out since late December because of a fractured hand. Datsyuk skated this morning and says he can play. Jan Mursak will be sent down to Grand Rapids to make room for Datsyuk. Thomas Holmstrom remains out and hopes to return Wednesday.
Will Rip Hamilton play in back to back games for the Pistons? The guard in and out of the rotation is now suffering from a sore groin and will be a game time decision tomorrow night as the Spurs are in town. John Kuester said today that he was proud of how Rip played Saturday night and says he'd love to play 3 guards 48 minutes a night but just can't. Rodney Stuckey and Jason Maxiell also wait to see if they are able to play tomorrow night.
The Green Bay Packers are Super Bowl champions yet the Vegas odds makers do not make Aaron Rogers and company the favorites for next season. The New England Patriots are favorites at 9 to 2 odds to win the Super Bowl in Indy. The Lions are 50 to 1 odds to win it all in 2012.
