BCS officials say they will sit down and talk soon about tweaking its system, after last night's National Title Game, which saw Alabama shut out LSU. The TV ratings are in and they were not good, actually lower than the regular season meeting on CBS from back in November between the Tide and Tigers. The rating was a 13.8 last night and down 14 percent from last year.
Sixth ranked Michigan State is on a roll. Tom Izzo's team, unranked to start the season, now is in the midst of a 14- game win streak as they welcome in Iowa tonight. MSU has beaten Iowa 16 straight at the Breslin.
Pistons try to snap a four game skid tonight; the World Champion Mavericks are in town. Dallas is just 4-5 on the year through their first 9 games.
Wings will be without Datsyuk tonight as they skate into New York to meet the Islanders. The forward is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. Ty Conklin will get the start in goal.
Tigers President Dave Dombrowski told the Detroit News last week he was not in trade discussions at the moment for a starting pitcher. CSN Chicago reports the Tigers have been talking to the Cubs about righty Matt Garza.
