Matt Dery Daily Update 11-1-11

The Red Wings are in an offensive funk right now, four straight losses and just four goals total as they face the Wild at the Joe tonight. This is the second leg of a home and home with Minnesota who beat the Wings 1-0 Saturday night.

Lineup changes for Mike Babcock, Jiri Hudler is a healthy scratch, rookie Gustav Nyquist will take his spot and skate on a line with Johan Franzen and Todd Bertuzzi.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz will have his team on the practice field for just 1 day this week, tomorrow before letting his players go for the remainder of the week for the bye. Schwartz says on Sunday in Denver he elected to take te sun in the 1st quarter, rather than take the ball after the team won the coin toss.

Today in New York , Lions DT Ndamukong Suh will meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss his issues with how penalties against him have been called and to get clarification on what he can and can't do on the field.

The Pistons Ben Wallace today pleading guilty in a Oakland County Court to misdemeanor drunken driving and weapons charges. The guilty plea means that the assistant prosecutor in the case is expected to drop the weapons charge. Wallace's attorney does not believe Big Ben will get jail time.
