MAREC To Open Quarterly Renewable Innovation Event

MUSKEGON -- Grand Valley State University's Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy Center will host an energy-related event that will focus on ways Michigan companies and universities can collaborate to drive innovation and grow opportunities in the region.

The event, organized by the newly-formed Energy Innovation Business Council, will serve as a quarterly meeting and will include a panel of successful Michigan collaborators, a keynote speaker and a guided tour of the MAREC facility.

Innovation Through Collaboration will be held Monday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the MAREC, 200 Viridian Drive in Muskegon.

Space is limited and the fees are $20 for EIBC members and $50 for nonmembers; register here by June 8.

The luncheon keynote speaker is Dan Scripps, an attorney for the Coalition for Green Capital. He will focus on bipartisan policy solutions that support investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy deployment.

The panel will include speakers from Dow Kokam, the Michigan Economic Development Corp., NextEnergy, Michigan State University Business Connect and Oakridge National Labs.
