Magicians Host Magical Weekend In Mount Clemens
MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - Business owners are excited to welcome the Magician Convention to Mount Clemens for a weekend of fun and magic for all, invading the city's downtown area from March 31 through April 3.
ABC Magic is hosting its Fifth Annual Magicians Convention, and store owner David Schneider wanted to expand the event to broaden the impact on the local business community. To that end, he's organized a large show and placed convention attending magicians at area restaurants to perform free table magic tricks for restaurant patrons.
Kicking off the Mount Clemens Magical Weekend is an all ages show at the Emerald Theater in Downtown Mount Clemens on Thursday, March 31 at 7 pm. The show features British sensation Keith Fields and Michigan Native Nathan Kranzo, as they perform the critically acclaimed "Mad, Magic, and Mental Show." Both magicians are internationally well-known, having performed all across the United States, Europe and the Caribbean.
This weekend kick-off magic show is a fundraiser for local service club organizations. The Kiwanis Club of Mount Clemens, Clinton Township Optimists, and the Mount Clemens Goodfellows will retain $4 from each $12 ticket sold. Tickets can be purchased at the Emerald Theatre box office or at ABC Magic Shop.
On Friday and Saturday nights, diners can see magicians performing "table" magic tricks free of charge at local restaurants. Any tips made by the magicians during these nights will be donated to charity.
The retail stores and salons will be getting in on the magic fun as well with specials and discounts in their stores throughout the weekend.
The goal of the Magical Weekend is to emulate the success of the international Abbott's Magical Get Together that takes over Colon, MI for four days each August.
