BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - Layoffs have been announced for about 60 employees who work at McCann Detroit in Birmingham.

The expected permanent separation date for the affected advertising agency staff at 360 W. Maple Blvd. is April 5, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice that the company filed with Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.

The WARN act requires companies going through mass layoffs and / or site closures to issue advance public notice to the state's labor department, should that step meet certain requirements for the size of company or number of people involved.

The job positions listed in the notice include account director, digital artist, designer and copy editor.

McCann has a history of over 60 years in Metro Detroit, working with a range of brands and clients. The local office is part of McCann Worldgroup, a creative solutions company that has over 15,000 employees across more than 100 countries.
