Layoffs Looming At Detroit Public Library
DETROIT (WWJ) - It could be the final chapter for 83 jobs at the Detroit Public Library.
Layoff notices could be sent out as early as today -- and would take effect March 31st. The cuts would represent about 20 percent of staff.
Senior administrators are also taking a ten percent pay cut. It'd be the first layoffs for the library in a quarter-century.
Library officials call their current financial crisis "unprecedented."
