Lawrence Tech Adds Five New Degrees For Fall Semester
Lawrence Technological University is inaugurating several new degree programs when classes begin for the fall semester on Wednesday, Aug. 25.
Regular registration concludes on Aug. 24, and late registration fees apply once classes have started. For information, call (800) CALL-LTU (225-5588).
The new degree programs are as follows:
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Art
The degree in game art is designed to prepare students for professional game design and development. Art integration, strong narrative and storytelling, and collaborations between artists and programmers distinguish this program from many others. Students can also learn about computer coding in the game design program in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design
The degree in industrial design will prepare graduates to bring together elements of creative art, engineering, sustainability and entrepreneurship to give products an aesthetic appearance that will succeed in the market place. Companies rely on industrial designers to gain a competitive advantage.
Master of Science in Industrial Engineering
The degree in industrial engineering focuses on developing more efficient processes, reducing costs, and increasing productivity within the manufacturing industry. In order to improve efficiency, industrial engineers use their knowledge of mathematics to design the manufacturing and information systems needed to meet production requirements. The industrial engineering master's degree has a concentration in health care systems.
Master of Science in Global Operations and Project Management
The degree in global operations and project management provides the foundation for pursuing certification as a project management professional, while also addressing many issues involved in doing business globally. This degree program focuses on sustainable business practices that protect people, resources, and profits. It aims to prepare graduates to manage sustainable and global business practices in growth industries such as defense, information technology, and new product development.
Master of Urban Design
The degree in urban design, which is not restricted to students with bachelor's degrees in architecture or design, is designed to develop a body of knowledge, skills, and experience in urban design with a focus on sustainable urbanism. The degree program provides an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach to integrating the built and natural environments, and layering culture, economics, history, technology and theory.
