Last Call Might Be Extended Until 4 a.m.
State lawmakers are considering extending 'last call' at some bars and restaurants to 4 a.m.
Supporters say keeping alcohol sales flowing an additional two hours would make Detroit more competitive with other big cities.
If approved, businesses would have to buy a special after-hours permit each year -- with most of the money going to local police departments.
Critics say the bill would create more work for police.
The bill could be taken up by a committee in the coming weeks.
