If you listened to Mike Ilitch talk to the media in one of his rare appearances Monday, the Detroit Tigers aren't done spending money yet.
That was great news to many fans.
The latest reason Ilitch opened the team's wallet -- new addition Jordan Zimmerman -- joined Stoney and Bill Tuesday morning where he said he would like one of his former teammates to join the Tigers as well.
While with Washington last season, Zimmerman teamed up with reliever Jonathan Papelbon. On the show, he said he wasn't opposed to bringing the reliever to Detroit as well.
"I had no problem with him, he's a great guy, he goes out there and competes and as you can see his stuff is still pretty dang good, so yeah I defiantly want him to coming in after me," Zimmermann said.
You might remember the incident between Papelbon and Bryce Harper last season.
Last season with the Phillies and Nationals, Papelbon went 4-3 with a 2.13 ERA, a WHIP of 1.026 and 24 saves.
The Tigers are still in need for bullpen help and Papelbon would fit in but the Tigers would have to trade for him. Would you want the Tigers to trade for him?
