Joe Dumars Aims For Better Results From Third Top-10 Draft Choice With Pistons

The NBA draft is a day away and Pistons president Joe Dumars is on the verge of making his most important draft selection -- with the seventh pick -- since he took over the team a decade ago.

It's the third time Dumars has had a top-10 selection and he whiffed badly on the first two tries, selecting Darko Milicic (2003) and Rodney White (2001).

In Milicic's case, Dumars fell in love with the wrong player in the deepest draft in recent memory. Milicic amazed scouts during a workout and regardless of what folks say seven years later, he was the consensus No. 2 guy, behind LeBron James.
