Jeff Riger: Post Game Tweet Not About Economics!

By now you must have heard about various tweets that came from Lions players after their loss to the Saints in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday night. In this day and age where we check Twitter before eating breakfast and taking a shower it was only natural that fan criticism would get to players immediately after the game should those players choose to check their phones or computers. One guy that not only looked at his Twitter account but also responded was second year corner back Aaron Berry who missed several tackles throughout the game and also had a chance to make a couple of interceptions, one of which that had the potential to be a real game changer. Berry, after reading criticism towards him got so fed up that he sent out a message to all his followers that read ""Y'all can go back to being Broke & Miserable...now back to regular scheduled programming..."

Afterwards Berry apologized and also deleted the Tweet from his account.

On Monday at Lions locker clean out day Berry once again had to address the tweet as a big media throng made their way towards the Pennsylvania native. Without waiting for his cue Berry apologized, this time in person to the media saying "I have to use better judgment and hold my emotion in but for people to grab it and make it economical now was just like, WOW." Berry also admitted that he probably should not have used the word "broke" in the tweet, especially when Detroit is involved. "When you think about it, to mention that, what the city went through — just to bring that up, just the 'broke,'" Berry said. "Even the words I used, the terminology I used was just off-topic. I apologize for it. I didn't mean anything by it. "

There are a lot of Lions fans that blame Berry single handedly for the loss but the DB doesn't agree with that. Berry said "If you really ask the coaches I didn't have a bad game, it's not like I had a bad game. There was opportunities I left on the field that I should have made but overall I thought I had a great season here. I was very productive."
