I'm Hitting The 'Street Beat'

If you can't get enough of me on "First Forecast Mornings" (from 5 am to 7 am on WWJ-TV and 7 am to 9 am on CW 50), well then you are in luck!

Starting this Sunday, I will be hosting "Street Beat" on CW50.  The weekly show goes behind the headlines to focus on community issues and stories of interest to Metro Detroit.

I am very excited about this opportunity because it gives me the chance to meet community leaders and talk about topics that affect Michiganders.

We'll focus on non-profit organizations trying to make a difference.  This week's topic is about crime.

One of the folks we will be talking with is Jamal Herbert from the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy.  The MYCA mentors at-risk boys and girls to stay away drugs.  Why are we talking about this school?  MYCA teaches children to build their lives in a productive path, in hopes of keeping them away from crime.
