Husband Arrested For Shooting At Wife's Boyfriend Following Domestic Violence Incident; Boyfriend Also Arrested
MONROE (WWJ) - Police say two men are facing charges following a domestic violence incident and shooting at a mobile home park in Monroe County.
The incident unfolded around 3 a.m. Friday at the Meadowbrook Manufactured Housing Community off Telegraph Road just north of Dunbar Road in Monroe Township.
According to police, a 40-year-old Monroe man was leaving his girlfriend's home after a domestic violence incident was reported to police. The man got into his girlfriend's vehicle and was subsequently confronted by the woman's 45-year-old husband, police said.
The husband confronted the boyfriend, according to police, pointed a handgun at him and ordered him to stop the vehicle. Police say the boyfriend started the vehicle and as he began to flee the driveway, the husband fired seven rounds at him. The rounds hit the vehicle, but the boyfriend was not struck.
The boyfriend continued to flee the scene and was later located by sheriff's deputies.
The husband was arrested on attempted homicide charges, while the boyfriend was arrested on domestic violence charges. Both remain jailed, pending arraignment.
