Detroit Police are investigating after bones were discovered near a local freeway.

The bones, including a skull, were discovered Sunday night by a man walking his dog  near some train tracks along the I-75  Chrysler freeway service drive by the Highland Park border. 

While the Wayne County Medical Examiner has reportedly determined that the bones belonged to a human, there's no word yet on whether they are the remains are of a man or woman.

 Officials are going over missing persons reports submitted in the last year, trying to determine if there is a match.
