Hockey Players Walk Out In Protest After Firing Of Coaching Staff
FLINT - The Flint Firebirds of the Ontario Hockey League have reportedly fired their entire coaching staff--prompting the entire team to walk out in protest.
ESPN reports that owner Rolf Nilson's son plays for the Firebirds--and the mass firing was over the son's lack of playing time.
The players then apparently quit after last night's four-three shootout win over the Oshawa Generals--in protest over the firings.
The Firebirds were known as the Plymouth Whalers until the team was sold and moved last year.
