DETROIT (WWJ) - The Head Start program in the city of Detroit is in jeopardy.

The Detroit Free Press reports that since the city's Human Services Department is under investigation by the FBI for misspending.  Head Start is in danger because  rent hasn't been paid to classroom providers for the pre-school program.

Head Start providers are concerned they may have to end programs to some seven thousand low-income kids in Detroit.

There's reportedly talk of transferring Head Start money to Wayne County.
