Great Start Looks For More Funding From State Lawmakers

INKSTER (WWJ) - The Early Childhood Investment Corporation, an independent publically owned nonprofit dedicated to dedicated to investing in early childhood education and development, kicked off its "Star Power" campaign Monday at an event in Inkster.

Great Start Director Toni Hartke says the goal is get as many people as possible to sign a letter to state lawmakers telling them funding for early childhood education is important.

"The more we can give the children when they are in the formative years of when brain development is," said Hartke. "The better they are going to be and more eager not just ready, but more eager, to learn and be citizens that are going to earn a living and put back into our economy for the state."
