Geometry Makes Sense With 'The Greedy Triangle'

Kids struggle with geometry sometimes, especially when the shapes are given different names than they are used to, or if the shape appears in a different way than they have seen. So while most kids know what a square is, calling it a quadrilateral will scare them off, or turning it on its side will make it less square.

Marilyn Burns' book, The Greedy Triangle, tries to get young people to understand geometry in more depth, and challenges kids and parents to explore the subject on their own. The picture book includes a story about a greedy triangle, as well as activities to help kids and parents understand geometry in greater depth.
