City Developer Expecting Meijer To Sign Lease

DETROIT (WWJ) - A major new retailer is coming to the spot in Detroit that used to border the old State Fairgrounds.

Developers told the city Monday that they expect to sign the lease for a new Meijer store at Eight mile and Woodward by mid-July.

It's hoped the new Meijer will jump start the long delayed Gateway project that was supposed to feature other major retailers as well.
