Feds Launch Two Seperate Safety Probes
The federal government is looking into safety issues involving the 2006 Honda CRV and the 2007 Kia Optima.
In both cases, there have only been three complaints. But, after criticism that they were slow to react to safety issues with Toyota vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is wasting no time launching investigations into potential vehicle problems.
In the case of the 2006 Honda CRV, there have been complaints of problems with the master power switch in the power windows. There have been three fires reported.
The 2007 Kia Optima complaints involve transmission isues that can use a cable to detach from the shifter assembly. In one of the complaints, a parked vehicle rolled away.
At this point, this is just an investigation, but it could lead to a recall. No word how long the investigation might take.
