Ex-Army Man Caleb Campbell Makes Strides As Lions Linebacker
His friends went to Jets games, Giants games and Lions games, but after the Army put his football dreams on hold the summer after the Lions gave him hope as a seventh-round draft pick, Caleb Campbell wanted nothing to do with the NFL.
He wasn't angry at the league, just heartbroken in general and determined to make good on his word.
When he was young, Campbell swore to himself the first NFL game he ever attended would be one he was playing in.
"And that's coming true this Saturday," Campbell said.
