Ethics Board Created In Macomb County
MACOMB COUNTY (WWJ) - A community board has been created in Macomb County to focus on ethical practices and standards of conduct for all county officials and employees to abide by.
Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel has named five local community leaders to the Macomb County Board of Ethics.
According to the ordinance, "The residents and those conducting business in or with Macomb County are entitled to fair, ethical and accountable government," which is exactly what the 10-page document focuses on, dealing with subjects such as conflict of interest and gifts and gratuities.
"Macomb County citizens will receive outstanding ethical leadership from their officials," said Hackel. "The individuals I have chosen will be strong ethics stewards protecting the interests of the county."
The five appointed to be on the board are: Dr. Donald J. Amboyer, Gregory Bauer Sr., Anthony J. Bellanca, Rev. John Mack and Karen Smith.
The board was selected at the end of 2011.
