Driver Flees Scene After Crashing Into Woodward Ave. Clinic
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police were searching Thursday for a driver who disappeared after crashing his Pontiac Grand Prix into a health clinic.
The accident happened on Woodward Ave. at Clairmount at 8:30 a.m.
Mark Lynn, who works at the clinic, said he talked with the driver before he fled the scene.
"He just said that he was coming down, southbound on Woodward, he went to stop, brakes locked up and then the car just slid right into the building," Lynn said.
He said he does not believe the driver suffered any injuries.
"He appeared to be fine and everything,"Lynn told WWJ City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas. "But, we told him just, you know, just stay in the car sit down because you don't know — with all the adrenaline running through you from the accident — you don't know until you finally calm down."
No one else was hurt and only minor damage was done to the building.
The car was towed.
