Driver arrested after fatal crash involving motorcyclist in Fraser, Michigan

A driver has been taken into custody after crashing into a woman who was riding a motorcycle over the weekend in Fraser, Michigan, police say.

According to the Fraser Department of Public Safety, officers responded to the crash at about 3:40 p.m. on Aug. 23, at Utica Road, near French Creek. A preliminary investigation found that the woman suffered life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a vehicle, and the driver fled the scene.

The woman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say investigators located the driver with the help of FLOCK cameras. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

Police say the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office will review the case to determine whether criminal charges are warranted.
