DPS Security Officer Stops Car Thief
Police say a Detroit Public Schools security officer has foiled a car theft.
Detroit Police tell WWJ Newsradio 950 that the DPS officer spotted a man stealing a car at Crockett Career and Technical Center, near Mack and St. Antoine.
Police say the suspect then drove the car at the DPS employee, who fired a shot or shots.
That suspect is now in the hospital, with non-threatening injuries.
The school employee's name was not immediately released.
