Dow, Sierra Club Argue For Home Star
This green stuff is making for some pretty amazing bedfellows.
In a joint article that would have been unthinkable a generation ago, Dow Chemical Co. chairman and CEO Andrew N. Liveris and Sierra Club executive director Michael Brune called for the passage of 'Home Star,' legislation now before Congress.
The Home Star bill would advance collaboration between the public sector and private, through matched funds, to advance home weatherization. It will serve to support the beleaguered construction industry and related fields, while helping to address one of the worst sources of energy "leakage" -- the home.
Liveris and Brune both belong to the Home Star coalition, a broad-based group of business, labor and environmental groups who support the bill.
