DETROIT (AP) — Residents are being asked to provide their thoughts and comments on Detroit's city budget during a public meeting.
The city's Budget Department has scheduled the meeting from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Coleman A. Young Community Center, 2751 Robert Bradby Drive.
Representatives from the city's public works, fire, police, health, public lighting and recreation departments also will attend the meeting.
City officials also will discuss current economic conditions in Detroit and major service priorities.
The Detroit City Council earlier this year approved a 3-year budget. The budget was prepared by state-appointed emergency manager Kevyn Orr who is shepherding Detroit through bankruptcy.
Federal Judge Steven Rhodes has said he expects to make a ruling in early November on Orr's restructuring plan for Detroit.
