Detroit Schools To Unveil College Counseling Suite

The first college counseling suite for Detroit students will open in time for fall classes at the public school district's Communication and Media Arts High School.

The district says the suite was being unveiled Friday morning. It features research areas, computers, manuals, and brochures to assist students searching for a college.

Video conferencing will allow students to virtually visit campuses and speak with college representatives. Students can take entrance exams and workshops in a seminar area.

Communication and Media Arts High School is receiving a makeover this week from the new NBC reality show

"School Pride.'' Work is expected to end Saturday.

The counseling suites also are planned for each of the district's high schools.
