The comments trickling in are cautiously optimistic:
• ESPN's Adam Schefter said: "If Matthew Stafford can continue to grow, and if the Lions' defense can get a little bit better and their running game comes around some, then the Lions actually could be competitive in the NFC North, which is something Detroit hasn't seen in recent seasons."
