Detroit Continuing To Come Out Flat
The Wings did not heed coach Mike Babcock's warning coming into Saturday's game. Babcock complained about a lack of energy and emotion and said players weren't skating hard in their previous two games, a 2-1 loss at Chicago and a 4-3 shootout loss to Vancouver. That trend continued in a 4-3 loss to Colorado. The Wings were flat from the drop of the puck and sluggish for two periods. They rallied in the third, but fell short. Afterward, Babcock and the players called their effort "unacceptable" and "embarrassing."
