Countdown To North American International Auto Show
The North American International Auto Show is just about one month away and those who run the show are planning to show off some of the recent upgrades that have been made to Cobo Center.
Most of the work up to this point has been behind the scenes, and while show-goers won't see it, Auto Show Co-chair Bill Perkins says it's much needed.
"You have to take infrastructure-type things that need to be done before you start with the cosmetics," Perkins told WWJ's Auto Beat Reporter Jeff Gilbert. "So, we're kinda right in the middle of upgrading the infrastructure - electrical, roofing."
The next step will be things like exterior and interior improvements that Perkins says the Auto Show still needs, along with more space and they're currently working out specifics on just how that will be done.
Event dates tied to the 2011 NAIAS are:
Media Preview - Jan. 10-11
Industry Preview - Jan. 12-13
Charity Preview - Jan. 14
Public Days - Jan. 15-23
