Construction To Start On Detroit Brush Park Development

DETROIT (AP) - Construction is to start on a 410-unit residential development in Detroit's Brush Park.

Mayor Mike Duggan, Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert and other officials will attend a ceremony Tuesday at the 8.4-acre site.

Officials say the mixed-use project just north of downtown is Detroit's largest residential neighborhood development in decades. It will include townhomes, duplexes, carriage homes and apartments.

The community is intended to be high-density and walkable and comes at a time when demand is growing for housing in and around downtown.
